HILLCREST

President's Message - December 2008

(re-printed from Dec - Jan edition of News & Views)

A very warm welcome to our new neighbors, Margaret and Dave Horsman , who recently purchased a home on Wembley Drive and Barbara McKinnon who purchased a home on Bath Road. We wish you the best of luck in your new homes. A warm "welcome back" is also in order to all our snowbirds returning to their homes.

During 2008, the last two Hillcrest roads were paved, new signage and landscaping was installed and overall we saw many residents making significant improvements to their properties. This is a testament to the commitment of the residents of our village.

By the time you read this, Hillcrest will have held it’s Annual Membership Meeting and two new directors will have been elected to the board for 2009. I wish to thank the outgoing board members, Sheldon LaMountain and Peg James for all their efforts and hard work. A big thank you also goes to Jackie LaMountain and Myrna Evans who have done a terrific job with the refreshments at the quarterly members’ meetings.

The two years which have past since I first assumed the job of President of Hillcrest seem to have flown by. While I remain on the Hillcrest Board of Directors in 2009, I will no longer be President. I will however, be the Hillcrest Village representative on the MCA Board of Directors, replacing Kerry Smith. We owe Kerry a great deal of gratitude for all the work he has done in this capacity over the past several years.

Serving as your president for the past two years has been a true privilege. I have had the honor of getting to know many of our residents, working with many wonderful people, and gaining a true insight into what makes our community such a great place to live. My heartfelt thanks go to everyone in the community who has shown me such wonderful support during the past two years. As a member of the Hillcrest Board and the MCA Board, I will continue to strive to do what is in the best interests of both Hillcrest and Meadowcrest.

During the coming holiday season, may you be surrounded by friends and family. And may 2009 bring you peace, happiness, prosperity and good health.
