HILLCREST President's Message - December 2011 (re-printed from Dec - Jan edition of News & Views)
Your Board of Directors has been busy this past two months preparing for the new year 2012. We approved the 2012 budget with a nominal increase of $2 per month. This of course includes all of the dues to Meadowcrest Community Association and Hillcrest Village expenses. It of course also includes the various charges for the reserves that we maintain in Hillcrest. We would appreciate all residents paying their dues promptly so we can meet our obligations on time. We do have a few unpaid 2011 dues from pending bankruptcies and/or foreclosures. Our treasurer and legal counsel have kept on top of these by the filing of liens so we can get our monies as promptly as possible. At our annual meeting in November, we elected two new directors, Dave Horsman and Elaine Neal. Both of these individuals have shown their interest in being directors by virtue of their activities on two very important committees of the Documents and the DAB. We welcome them to the Board. We have two directors who have rotated off after spending much time in helping steer the Board. They are Kerry Smith and Sheldon LaMountain. Kerry will continue as our Treasurer but relinquish the Directors job. And Sheldon will retire from his director's position the second time after almost two full terms, one of which included the presidency. We thank them both for jobs well done. The Documents committee has begun its deliberation of the CC& R's, which we are aiming at concluding these revisions during the winter and spring of 2012. Official filed copies of the amendments to the Articles of Incorporation and the By Laws have been handed out at our November members meeting, and mailed to others who were not in attendance at that meeting. You each should destroy your previous copies of the Articles and By Laws, so that you will only be referencing the current Articles and By Laws when you need to. Historical copies of these legal documents will be retained by the Association should we need to reference them for any valid reason. Frank Ehlman has agreed to take the chair of the Architectural Control Board along with his Maintenance committee duties. We still are in need of one more person for the DAB for 2012-2013 years, and someone to take over the Member Meeting Refreshments. I thank all the people who jumped in to committee assignments and chairs this past year. I especially thank all the members of the Board for their help and guidance on solving and/or identifying our problems. Your assistance has been appreciated. May all our residents live peacefully, happily and healthy in our lovely Hillcrest Village. Submitted by Curt James
